Kate has multiple things going for her, as far as helping with the plan goes. For starters, she's likely to be underestimated since she's neither a former Widow nor an official Avenger (retired or not), but more importantly, Yelena had been interested in her. So it makes sense that if they just so happen to conveniently engineer a situation where Yelena would be able to kidnap Kate—
(Is it really kidnapping if she's technically secretly hoping it happens and it's her idea in the first place? Semantic quandaries she never expected to encounter...)
—then Kate can be their person on the inside, and hopefully that will give them the edge they need to figure out what the hell to do next.
