Fisk would never let Spider-Man walk foot on his grounds, hell, if he’d caught wind that Spider-Man was even in Hell’s Kitchen every precinct would be paid off to their throats and every gunman would be sent to shoot spiders on sight. It’d be a whole lot of mayhem and a whole lot of noise for the poor folks of Hell’s Kitchen at a lazy 11 am in the morning and it’s not a fight he’s sure he’ll win with the courts.
But Fisk’s never had any problem hiring broke, scrawny-looking eighteen-year-olds looking for some extra dough. And he certainly has no trouble hiring Peter Parker who fits all those markers, and has the bonus rep of being smart, too. Graduated first of his class but couldn’t afford college, and had to skip on scholarships to help his elderly, but still working, aunt. Parentless and friendless, Peter Parker was the ideal expendable.

A Dark Reign AU: Following the events of Civil War and Secret Invasion, Steve Rogers is dead, and Tony Stark has been completely disgraced. On the other hand, Norman Osborn is considered a worldwide hero. Norman and his Thunderbolts (a group of 'reformed' supervillains) are put in charge of the top levels of American security. Norman rebrands them as his Avengers, but realizes that there is essential element missing. He needs someone who will be 'the heart' of his team - the Captain America to his Iron Man. Norman's sights are set on his estranged son, Harry. 'The boy' objects at first, but after some coaxing and light threats, Harry agrees to stand with his father and become a beacon of hope as the superhero 'American Son.'
Opposing Norman are the New Avengers - a group of former superheroes turned fugitives - who seek to expose Norman for who he really is.
(Note: While my main inspiration is the 616 comics, there are some changes, and it's my intention to write the story so that it can be easily read by comic book readers and non-comic book readers alike. A timeline and character charts are included inside, and I'll happily answer any questions, either directly or in later chapters as part of the story.)
