Summary
“Martha?”
“Yes?” She manages to say once she’s sure Karen is well tucked under her blanket.
“I love you. I love you. I love you. I love you. I love how you always make me smile. And I love the way you care so much for everyone around you. But most of all, I love how you make bacon and pancakes in the morning. I love you, Martha. I really do.”
She doesn’t look into Karen’s eyes once, only smooths the invisible wrinkles on the blanket covering the end of the bed. Karen was drunk, she reminds herself.
