“Don’t you remember what you said to me, Hinata?” I ask softly, my forehead still resting against his. “You said it’s like volleyball. Our relationship. You have to train, you said... I would add: you have to fight.”
I feel something touch lightly against my chest. My breath catches as I realize: It’s Hinata... He’s lifted one of his hands and curled his fingers loosely in my shirt.
I try not to break down sobbing right then and there. I struggle – and manage to maintain my composure.
“It’s all like that, Hinata,” I continue. Only the extra tremor in my voice betrays how close I am to collapse. “Life... It’s all like volleyball, I think. I know you’ve felt so beaten down. But you can still get up. You can still fight. Please try to, love... If not for you, then please try for me.”
*What started out as a one-shot of Kageyama's attraction to Hinata unexpectedly turned into an exploration of their entire relationship trajectory... From first attraction to first kiss to first fight to serious struggles... And how they fumble through it all, learning to love and learning to live. /cheesy summary. :)
