Tommy was loud. Tommy was combative and hostile and defensive and aggressive. Tommy was destructive. He knows he’s a problem child, constantly getting into trouble and wrecking any semblance of a family he might have left. But he doesn’t stop- he prefers the disgusted looks and constant new faces to the heartbreak that comes with caring.
Tommy’s been bounced from home to home for most of his adolescence. This place is supposed to be a new start with people who care, but Tommy can’t bring himself to open up. He knows it’ll only end in pain and bitterness. He has his friends and support system, and he tells himself it’s all he needs.

There was a deep rattling noise followed by a groan, and Tommy snaps his attention to another panel inside the other tank. This one was parallel to his, and was far enough away that he couldn’t actually see what was inside. This panel didn’t have bars. It was just..Open.
At first, nothing happened.
Then, something slipped out of the opening, and into the open water beyond Tommy’s bars.
He sucked in a breath and backed away a bit as he stared.
It’s fucking huge.
Tommy’s frozen for a moment as he stares at the monster with his heart thundering in his ears, and the monster stares right back at him with piercing eyes.
Tommy blinks, and the monster moves.

“I don’t have a home,” Tommy whispered, and the tremble of his voice broke something in Technoblade’s stone heart.
“Yes, you do,” he said, as steadily as he could with what might as well have been an arrow lodged in his chest. “You have one with me. That will never change.”
Tommy bit his lip. His ears were quivering slightly, his tail swishing against the sand in a gesture of uncertainty.
“Please, Tommy.” Technoblade softened his voice, the way he used to when Tommy was just a kit in his scrawny, teenage arms.

No resentment, no useless attempts to anger each other, no hurtful words for the sake of being the “better” of the two. Only two people who happen to know each other for a long time.
Diluc celebrated Kaeya's birthday, making him discover some alarming differences about Kaeya. Somehow, he ended up feeling the incredible urge to invite Kaeya to celebrate Barbatosmas with him, thinking it might be interesting to spend time after so long, to honor the olden days. But Diluc wasn't aware of something important.
Diluc celebrated that day because it is Barbatosmas. But Kaeya celebrated it because he was finally going to die.
