Ryan unclenched his shaking fists trying to calm himself down once he found himself face to face with the castle doors, his feet dragging his own body to them. His heart pounded in his throat, the noise almost ringing throughout Ryan’s ears. He brought up a shaking fist to the doors, softly knocking on the wooden door.
The noise echoed around him, a noise that brought comfort to the castle. Ryan stood there for a couple more seconds, listening to the last echoes of the knock and the utter silence that followed right after. Anxiety continued to bubble up into his chest, before he tried to knock on the doors again. Ryan sighed softly, feeling some sort of disappointment when he realized that the castle was probably empty.
However, Ryan still wrapped his palms around the cold handle of the door and gently pushed it open, afraid to make any noise although he just knocked on the doors multiple times. He was a little shocked at how the door opened so easily, and had to catch himself once he stood. Ryan’s breath got caught in his throat once he looked up into the castle, amazed by the beauty of it all.

Max Guevara deals with a shit-ton of 'maybes' in her life. She is one herself. Maybe she'd be able to survive out in the world without completing her training. Maybe she can make meaningful connections and choices for herself outside Manticore influence or control. Maybe she can feel completely comfortable in her skin. Maybe.

X5-494 nombrado "Alec" por su ex-compañera de copulación X5-452 "Max", es el típico chico creído, arrogante, egocéntrico, que solo se preocupa por sí mismo, y que en verdad cree que es gracioso cuando solo es sarcástico e idiota, aunque hey, es leal y un buen aliado... cuando quiere serlo.
Hasta ahora, la única persona por la que ha demostrado preocupación es Max. Él simplemente... la aprecia. Pero aún así, la X5 insiste en ser cortante y fría con él. Sin embargo, Max será la única en notar cambios en la manera de ser de Alec desde que estos estuvieron en la hacienda Berrisford.
