“I have just been waiting.” He answered her slowly, his voice hollow and flat, as if he was finally admitting it to himself. "I have been waiting for the end of my life. I am waiting for years to pass, until the time comes when I will be defeated and succeeded by my descendant. And I will fulfill my mission."
His gaze extended past her, and stared into the world that goes beyond the other shore.
