WARNING for those of you on limited access--IMAGE HEAVY!
This isn't the final work of the Bang, which is in progress. This is the report on the process of getting pictures done!
Now it is Done!! YAY!
See also the finished work here, thanks to lady_krysis!http://archiveofourown.org/works/2176650
Also, kisahawklin made ICONS for us!
Go see them here:
http://archiveofourown.org/works/2212656So many great ideas for the Bang, one person wanted to costume for it. This cosplay idea inched itself into my head. I have 1/3 scale jointed dolls. Instead of humans, hey, I have a doll head that needs a scar-face make up *anyway*... Imagine if, at your basic science fiction fantasy cosplay convention, the people in those fannish snapshots were being portrayed by 1/3 scale dolls. Imagine if fans of the Losers were quoting favorite lines from the movie and explaining it to fans who were cosplaying for other movies?

There are some great quick guides to HTML on A03. This is not one of them - it is a comprehensive guide, dividing all of the available tags into the following categories:
1. Text Formatting (in-line HTML)
2. Page Formatting (block HTML)
3. Tables and Lists
4. Links and ImagesEach tag will have - at a minimum - a link to the w3schools page about it (so you can learn more), a code example, and the result of the code example.
It will also introduce tag attributes, ways to further refine formatting, for a few simple - but widely applicable - cases.

Summary
As of April 2016, The database that stores works on A03 does not allow emoji. If you try to add an emoji it will end your story there. Any words after the emoji? Poof. Gone. This is a known, if poorly advertised, issue with the archive.
There are some workarounds; you can find them in: How to Make iOS Text messages on A03. But here? Here is for ALL THE EMOJI*.
10 chapters of emoji tables, each with the HTML for putting the emoji into your work and the CSS for putting it into your workskin. Copy-Paste baby. Copy-Paste.
*Does not contain the 2016 Unicode release. You'll have to come up with the code for pickle yourselves.
(Note, because this is 10 chapters of emoji tables, here is a link to the Index Tables (chapter 1) to speed up load times and reduce confusion if you have preferences set to "entire work.")

Oh no! You've been dying to get your hands on that fic, fanvid, or fanart that people keep recommending, but you can't find a link to it that works.
Sometimes a link is not really broken, and sometimes content is available elsewhere if you know how and where to look.
Includes some strategies specific to Livejournal and Dreamwidth, but the rest is applicable to the entire internet.

Summary
One of the most common errors in multi-chapter works on AO3 is the "floating" end notes that should be at the end of the first chapter but insist on latching onto the end of the latest chapter instead. Here are instructions explaining how to stick these floaters at the end of your first chapter where they belong.

a work skin that mimics the program Discord (for chatfics or fics that feature use of it!)
made this skin over a couple days; it won't look good on mobile or with creator's style disabled but the html is pretty easy to customise!
(Note: some folks in the comments have been kind enough to share some fixes for a few of the problems!)If you use it, crediting and linking back here so other people can find it is appreciated :)
EDIT: I haven't updated this in quite some time so I'm giving blanket permission for people to share their own fixed and improved versions of the code! Just link back here so people can find some help for how to use it. happy writing!

Tag Naming Site Skin + Rename Stats site skin by memorizingthedigitsofpi

Summary
CSS code that adds text in front of each tag type (Warnings, Relationships, Chararacters, Additional Tags). This only affects the tags when you're scrolling through a list of works (on an author's page, in a search etc) and not the labels at the top of a fic that you've opened.
Chapter two gives the CSS code for renaming the stats at the top of each AO3 work.

Tag Naming Site Skin + Rename Stats site skin by memorizingthedigitsofpi
------------------You'd like to be able to better distiguish where the different kinds of Tags (Warnings, Relationsships, Characters and Freeform) start in the Work blurbs?
Here's the CSS to create a site skin that adds these titles! In bold and even with different colors! 😀 (the wording the author uses is quite creative, but you can choose your own wording)Or you think the titles of the Stats in the Work blurbs are boring, or too long?
Chapter 2 has a site skin for that! With appropriate emojis for every Stats title! (again, you can change that if you like something else better)Both skins are quite simple and easy to implement.
