It is 1885, Kyoto, peacetime.
A bloody street-side massacre has been identified by Saito as the product of Hiten Mitsurugi Ryu. There are two suspects: Himura Kenshin and his master Hiko Seijuro the Thirteenth. Unbeknownst to them, a third user of their exalted style has time travelled to the future: Hiko Seijuro the Twelfth.
To add to the confusion, Kyoto city has been plagued by a string of serial killings for months, all claimed by a mysterious 'Hitokiri Battousai' who no longer exists. (A fic about mistaken identity inspired by Shakespeare's Twelfth Night.)

Set in the U.S. (plus magic) in 2010, this series features characters from Rurouni Kenshin and Gundam Wing. It should be readable without knowledge of either fandom (though some little references/in-jokes will go over your head). Many of the characters' names are slightly or very different in this universe.

I wanted to share all the ones I've written in a little collection. The first one I wrote in response to some InuYasha haiku I'd written. I was then inspired this past Christmas to write more of them for an LJ community I belong to called 12 Days of Ficmas.
