“I’ve asked Hal to go with me. Are you going to be weird about it?”
“Why would I be weird about it?” Bruce says, because he’s an adult and a parent. He crosses his arms and just barely restrains himself from scowling. “Is it because there’s no one else available? I can move around my schedule if you’d like.”
For some reason, his son’s tendency to hang out with Hal Jordan is not one of the things Jason’s grown out of. It started out from one of Jason’s more creative ideas to annoy Bruce, way back in his early middle school days, but it has developed into—and it does annoy Bruce to admit this—a mutual friendship between the two of them.
“Unbelievable.” Jason’s face splits into a grin, one that usually means trouble. “You’re already weird about it.”
(Or: Bruce Wayne is not the most well-adjusted one in all of this. Hal Jordan will be the first one to tell you: "I told you so.")

Wally fiddles with the flight-simulator’s controls for a moment before warily admitting, “I wanna be Green Lantern.”
“Green Lantern?” Hal can’t help an astonished and delighted grin. He’s relatively new compared to most superheroes out there, and most of his adventures happen in space where no one on Earth can see. Coming across a fan in his everyday life is still an exciting novelty.
Wally cringes in embarrassment. “I know that’s stupid, ‘cause it’s never gonna happen—”
“No, it’s not stupid,” Hal assures him. “It’s just, I’d have figured you for a Flash fan, being from Central City and all.”
“I’m not from Central City. I’m just visiting Aunt Iris for the summer,” Wally corrects. “I used to be a big fan of the Flash, though. And I still like him, it’s just…”
“Just what?”
“I dunno. He’s just not as cool, since he got that sidekick,” Wally pouts. He crosses his arms over his chest and mutters, “What kind of a name is Speedy, anyway?”

So it's unfair, really, that his own body is trying to rebel against him and the only person in eight sectors who can do anything about it seems to be the first person willing to ask Guy's opinion on the matter.
Mostly, it turns out, because Guy doesn't know what he wants done himself. (Apparently, that makes healing harder. Go figure.)

Hal is 17, and counting the days till his 18th birthday so he can join the Air Force. Jessica Jordan is desperate to get her son away from the Californian airfields, so she calls in an old favour and sends Hal to spend a few months in Central City.

“The fuck, B. Since when do you get to tell me what to do - you’re not even in the league these days,” the stroppy Lantern argues. “For that matter, neither is Hal!”
“Gardner,” Bruce snaps, “He doesn’t know.”
That seems to give him pause.
“Shit,” finally crackles over the line. Then, with more feeling, “ Fuck. Wait, how do you know?”
“Stewart’s last transmission- Hal had already left Oa on sector patrol when the news reached there." There's a beat of silence. It shouldn't need spelling out, but... "We have to tell him about Coast City - before he finds out, the hard way.”
“...We'll come back to ask how you know the content of league communications later. But, seriously, are you shitting me? You want me to tell Jordan - that his home is gone?”
It’s a good thing they’re talking voice-only, because Bruce definitely fails to hide his wince at that.
“Just - keep him in space for a bit. I’ll handle it. Batman out.”
