Summary
It's been five years since zombies first started walking the Earth, destroying anything and everything in their wake. Now, in this apocalyptic world, fighting for survival comes as naturally as breathing. The one thing you've learned ever since they arrived, though, is that the living can be so much more dangerous than the undead. When you stumble across two young, scared boys lost in the woods and being chased by walkers, you go against your better judgment and help them to safety. Little did you know that helping them would lead you to Bucky - an angry, grumpy, distrusting member of the camp Shield. Bucky has zero interest in having you enter his life. He's been hurt before and lost too many people to risk experiencing that kind of pain again, and he knows that there are secrets you aren't telling the group. Yet, when push comes to shove, and you're put at risk, he'll stop at nothing to keep you safe.

Steve had to stall. He clearly couldn’t take on this Thanos in a fight—not that he knew if he would have to yet—so he would have to hope for something else. Maybe he could outsmart him or, even better, reason with him. “You could have gone to Stark.”
Thanos chuckled. There wasn’t a trace of fat on his body, his size came from sheer muscle mass, but his chest vibrated slightly as he laughed—not so much as a jiggle from his pectorals as they moved. “The Iron Man, yes, he in particular interests me. But he has shown hostility to aliens before and, I must confess,” Thanos made direct eye contact, “I had my heart set on you.”
With all six Infinity stones, Thanos is in need of agents to do his bidding. Why not use the stones to turn some enemies into allies? The Avengers have proven themselves formidable, so why not make them work for him? He can do whatever he likes with them and that power can be corrupting!

She lifted the phone to her eyes, and tried to still the moving numbers. When they wouldn't stop moving, she placed her fingers on the keys and prayed that her muscle memory would be enough to do what she needed to do. She had to call the one contact that she had that wasn't affiliated with SHIELD in any way. Hopefully the one contact that wouldn't hurt her. Daisy took a deep breath and dialed a number that she prayed was still connected to a phone. It was a number that had been drilled into her head years ago, just after she had found a dead body hidden in the rafters of the playground.
