So, they haven’t actually told anyone that they’re back together, yet. They’re too busy basking in the afterglow of every kiss, fuck and glorious moment together, of every wound healing. It’s only been a couple of weeks, so it’s not like they’re hiding it or purposely not telling anyone. They haven’t even been around each other at work, so no one’s even seen them together to ask how they’re getting along. The only people that know about the two of them are Yuta, Mox and Regal, and that’s only because they gave themselves away coming down to breakfast together the morning after their reunion, Claudio wearing head to toe Eddie’s clothes because his bags were still in Mox’s room, marks littering the base of Claudio’s neck which hadn’t been there the night before.

Eddie and Claudio have a little fun with their friends, and Eddie reflects on their new relationship.

“Kid,” he growls warningly, “I only got so much willpower.”
“Sorry.” Ruby stops and her sheepish, half-hearted apology breaks the kiss. Catching his breath, Eddie rests his forehead upon hers, seizing her flanks to prevent her from backing away, because that is absolutely not what he wants. All he needs is a break to try to regain a shard of lucidity.
“If you keep moving like that, I can’t guarantee—” He swallows, inhaling sharply. “Christ, Rue, I respect you too much. I—”
A quick kiss cuts him off. Ruby is panting and flushed, scrutinising him with those dazzling doe eyes that aren’t green, nor brown, nor grey, and yet somehow are all of these things. He's so captivated by her he finds it hard to muster enough words to express what his mind is screaming.
“Ruby, Ruby, Ruby, Ruby Soho… what have you done to me? One look of yours and the King’s on his knees for you… My beautiful Ruby...”
She breathes out a feeble giggle. “Do you always get this sappy when you’re aroused?”
“Oh, darlin'... if this was just arousal it’d be so much easier to handle. You have no idea.”[ Eddie is rough and tough, but give him his Ruby and he'll unapologetically turn into soft mush. ]

He ached. There was a gaping crater in his chest, empty and cold, that kept getting patched over with each small bit of refuge he was able to find. Never repaired, never truly fixed, no matter how much care anyone chose to give him. Like a bomb had gone off inside his ribcage, leaving nothing but rubble and dust. A pit so wide and jagged and perilous that nothing could hope to survive there.
Each time he shattered, it got harder and harder to glue the pieces back together. Shards no longer fit together, cracks widened to the point that they'd never truly close.
