Instead of fearing that he will become like her, Antonio decides that he does not want a Gift. He does not want to leave Mirabel, all alone in the nursery. He does not want to stay in a place where Mirabel is always sad and in pain.
The world outside of the Encanto has to be better. There must be a place where Mirabel will get to be happy. Where he too will be happy alongside her.
Paradise awaits, and with it, far-reaching consequences for the family they will leave behind.
