Squinting up accusingly, since it is obviously all his fault this is befalling her, she comments blithely, “You’re not Kay.”
“Kylo,” he corrects.
She snorts at him. “As if I could forg—”
But he’s disappeared into the inky darkness of the hotel room.

A white shirt, open nearly to his navel, reveals a tattooed and scarred chest, the rest of him encased in an overcoat of black leather. Heavy silver rings adorn every finger and an earring glints on one ear. His hair is very long and dark, his eyes huge and brown and piercing. If he ever wore a hat, it was lost to the storm, and the wind whips his hair around his face. His face would be pleasant to gaze upon in other circumstances, perhaps, but his grin has the light of the unholy behind it. He looks to have never known any god or master.
“What have we here, gentleman?” The captain stands grinning over them. Steve is face to face with his scuffed black boots. “Caught some pretty fish today, did we?”
