Summary
Gaia can't be saved, Jenova's poison too far reaching and Sephiroth tied too closely to her Chosen One. Unable to break that bond, she chooses to steer into it. She completes their bond fully and sends Cloud back in time. This time, if one is killed, the other is halved. Cloud can work with that.
Sephiroth gains knowledge of this bond in vague dreams. A blonde warrior who is a sight to behold, but whose death would mean his own. If he is real, he must protect him at all costs.
Too bad nobody told Cloud what Sephiroth wants.
Or; that one time-travel fic where Cloud is just trying to save Gaia whilst avoiding Sephiroth until last. Sephiroth is just trying to find and protect the blonde warrior whose life is inexplicably tied to his own.

"I won't forget you," then I force myself to move. I wasn't quite sure where to go, only that I couldn't stay here.

Sephiroth Crescent studied himself in the mirror, and his stark reflection regarded him back. He had tugged his hair up into a high ponytail, and it pulled his long, silver locks out of his face, exposing his sharp jawline. He thought the change might detract attention away from his shoulders, which had only become wider and more muscular over summer break.
He didn’t want to look big and intimidating, not now, not ever. He was going for approachable and friendly, something he had never quite managed before. Not with his serious, sharp face, his long nose, and his significant stature and broad chest and shoulders.
But desperate times called for desperate measures.
It was a new school semester, and he was going to win Cloud Strife’s heart.---
An overly dramatically, blatantly OOC and gratuitous self-indulgent Sefikura told from Sephiroth's POV about how it feels to be a high schooler, just chock full of confusing emotions, and feel like everything is going to either save or ruin your life forever.

Summary
Cloud Strife is a part of a very small percentage of people that live on Gaia with Intramind Deity Association (IDA for short), a kind of phenomenon where a human creates a mental and physical bond with a fantastical creature. But because people with IDA are so rare on the planet, many countries found ways to use them for their own purposes and so did Shinra IDA Academy, a special military-styled college that gathers humans with IDA from all around the world.
Thanks to his strong bond with a tiny blood pixie he named "Dada", Cloud managed to enroll in this prestigious college along with his childhood friends, Zack Fair and Tifa Lockhart, but on the day of the enrollment celebration, the trio is attacked by the group of thugs.
And even though they hold up well against the attackers, everything is finally settled once a mysterious, silver-haired man swoops in and makes thugs run in fear. Cloud is immediately mesmerized by his hero's strength and ethereal beauty... only to find out his savior also attends the same college.
