Bookmarker's Notes
This can be a very intimidating read when you look at the word and chapter count, but if you need something to get completely immersed in and have the spare time to read it, it's a very compelling read. But in ways, it's also an exhausting read in the best way. It's an unplanned field trip to the ghost zone, where Danny literally does not get a break for presumably over a month. There's just one disaster after another, and nearly all involved are exhausted.
But it's so compelling the author really fleshes out the world to a depth that Hartman really could never even dream of. Minor characters are fleshed out to be more than just faces and names with their own personalities, opinions and desires. The cultural building of the Ghost Zone is fascinating, not to mention the way the author almost expertly plays with foreshadowing, there is not one mention of things that doesn't get brought up as relevent in some way shape or form. The world building is so well developed it's hard for me to dissect if it ever played a part in the show or if it was created by the author. It feels natural and right, and when the author says every character from the show, they aren't kidding. So far, nearly every single character Danny has interacted with has either shown up or been mentioned repeatedly.
Even with little touches sprinkled in of the effects of previous battles having shaped the kids' behaviours such as the cutting off of every single "i wish" as habit. The tension is well written, and events aren't always obvious with how it's going to play out. Sure it's pretty clear that things will eventually go in the characters' favor but there's nearly always a catch or something that stops it from being a complete victory. The thing that they were avoiding or hoping not to come to pass will eventually be brought up again. And you'd think that with a mammoth fic such as this jumping around and following different characters and different perspectives would be confusing or jarring but it's not. The way the author writes it makes it feel natural and always switches back to another character before you could get frustrated by the wait.
If there's one thing that concerns me ever so slightly is that there's no clear end point, where this fic would naturally conclude. While it seems that at the current arc if you will, feels like it's somewhat...less busy than previous ones, it's hard to tell if the story is winding down or if it's at the mid-point. If you're not wanting to follow such a long fic over a period of time, maybe wait until it's complete or a chapter count has been posted but it's definitely a fic to keep your eye on.
A general (and vague) summary of events covered, warnings for spoilers however in the later parts:
Due to a complication in a display of Fenton Tech (which makes a ghost relive their death), Danny, his friends, family and his class are transported to the Ghost Zone. Specificially, to Danny's Lair, but this will not be known immediately. As they search for ways to escape, Jack and Maddie have tensions with Danny believing him to be possessed by Phantom, as such they create another device which directly violates a third taboo ontop of their previous breakage of a taboo making a ghost relive their death. Throughout which Danny is injured, and they literally do not have a chance to rest with one emergency and problem after another, Guys in White trying to destroy the core (and inadvertantly the human world), Danny needs surgery for his broken core, being kidnapped by Valerie (orchastrated by Spectra with her being ordered by Issitoq an Observant with a hatred of Danny) and classmates, becoming stranded in hostile territory until they're forced to enter a risky lair which will alter memories until they can find transportation to get to a safer place or be rescued. During which Danny's identity as Phantom is revealed to his classmates and teacher, during their escape they are confronted by Aragorn and in the scuffle Danny panickedly consumes his amulet, causing even further damage to himself. With Danny needing emergency treatment, a second group escorts him to Mattingly where he receives it but is attacked by Dan. Issitoq takes advantage and sends Danny back in time, where he plays his part in a story, consumes more artifacts, is told of his position as soon-to-be-king before being sent back. There he helps Clockwork, having being sent into madness at Danny's disappearance and the breakage of his contract with the Observants, recover and stops an attack on Clockwork's lair with the aide of Dan, while on his way to the Libra building to start the trial for his parents, he sees that Amity is in danger and heads back there to fend it off, eventually revealing his identity to the town and holding off more danger until after the trial. Finally in the trial commences, Issitoq infiltrates and is finally arrested, before the trial starts back up again. -

Sam and Dean are working a case in Wyoming, but are distracted by news of a dangerous angel called "Castiel" who they can't remember ever having heard of before. The name seems a little bit familiar, but neither of the boys is sure why.
Based off of mid-season 9 (before mark of Cain, before the angel army); takes place several months later, in September 2014. Case fic wrapped in a big ol' amnesia mystery. NO SLASH; the idea is that this is something they could do on the actual show, like a 3-4 episode arc with some mini cases and a cool story running through it all. GETS VERY EMOTIONAL with super strong friendship/family themes, lotsa hurt/comfort, about three metric tons of Cas angst, feels galore, plus monsters and M&M's.

I was originally disappointed that the reporter was arbitrarily male (esp. since I originally pictured Freddie Lounds, though she doesn't fit the character). Suffice to say, I'm not anymore.
A promising author. I look forward to more.(I've a suspicion that, if this were to occur IRL, the reporter would normally publish this as one main "Life with the Avengers" PR fluff piece and 2 or 3 exposés for maximum profit & publicity.)

Bookmarker's Notes
"It [starts] with a phone call" and ends with a Nick/Mycroft bromance. Basically follows the premise of Marvel Avengers - Loki wants revenge but needs help getting it, Fury puts together a team to stop him, everyone squabbles but it turns out fine. (Better than fine, even.)
Good Omens and Black Books are mentioned but not a huge part of the story, which is good because I'm not familiar with those.
