    Summary

When the dwarves of Ered Luin and the Iron Hills come together to raise up the lost kingdom of Erebor, Bilbo and the Company are tested in ways they had not forseen. Love both binds and tears asunder, and is just as much a madness in the blood as it is a light in the darkness. The concept of home is ever-shifting, and Bilbo and the Company must fight to secure their place in this new world.

Meanwhile, the royal family is reunited, and Thorin Oakenshield slowly realizes that there are choices beyond the slow, dutiful death of love. In the autumn years of his life, the King Under the Mountain makes his choice and embarks on one final quest.

    Summary

Bilbo woke up with a start when the boat stopped its gentle rocking. He lifted his hand to block the golden rays of the sun that blinded him; for a moment, he thought his vision had worsened, and that he would have to go through his undying days with faulty eyes, but when he adjusted to the light, he realised that it had not worsened as he had thought, but had gone completely bad. His hand… His hand. His hand, unmarred by years and adventures.

Or, yet another fic in which Bilbo goes back in time to the beginning of the Smaug quest.

    Summary

    SUMMARY:
After Bilbo's daring feat of bravery in saving Thorin's life, the Dwarf King decides it's high time he stopped being so rude to his - the Company's - Burglar. A late night on watch by a fire leads to discussions of hair and culture, and a lesson that neither will forget any time soon.

    EXCERPT:
In short, the two were barely separable. The rest of the Company took notice, of course, and bets were sneakily made, but Thorin had not become a great warrior without being observant; he noticed the gambling, he only never bothered to put a stop to it, or to find out its purpose. If it kept the Company happy, alive, and in high spirits, who was he to spoil their fun? Worse things could come from this journey than a few coins traded on the road.
Besides, Thorin found that Bilbo’s company was an adequate distraction from the whisperings of his kin.

    Summary

The battle was over, and Thorin Oakenshield awoke, naked and shivering, in the Halls of his Ancestors.

The novelty of being dead fades quickly, and watching over his companions soon fills him with grief and guilt. Oddly, a faint flicker of hope arises in the form of his youngest kinsman, a Dwarf of Durin's line with bright red hair.

(Follows the story of the War of the Ring).

(Bagginshield, Gimli/Legolas) In which recovery takes time, the dead members of the Company take to watching Gimli as though he’s a soap opera, the living struggle with being left behind, Legolas is confused, Khuzdul is abused, and Thorin is four feet and ten inches of guilt and anger.

    Summary

Post-BotFA, while Thorin, Fili, and Kili are slowly recovering from their wounds, Bilbo finds himself subject to a condition that hobbits might experience at a few very particular times in their lives, under very particular circumstances, none of which apply to him. Very confused (and somewhat embarrassed) he decides to keep it a secret during this delicate time in the mountain. This goes about as well as you might expect.

    Summary

“Come now, Thorin, I’m sure all will be well! He can simply reverse the spell. Right, Gandalf?” Bilbo looked up from his husband and smiled. It was an unfortunately naive, rather hopeful expression that made the wizard cringe in shame.

“Well, actually,” Gandalf shifted nervously, “Since I am not too sure what, exactly, I just cast, there isn’t anything I can really do-” He spoke as if he were a child being scolded by his parents, and by the looks he was now getting from the king and consort, he might as well have been, “But! I’m sure we’ll find out soon enough and it will be an easy fix!” He floundered.

Bilbo’s glare was strong enough to make the ages-old, semi-immortal, extremely powerful wizard consider jumping into Mount Doom, just to escape the Hobbit’s wrath.

TLDR: My take on the "Turned into a child" trope, except it's based on my experiences as a childcare professional. AKA Children are unhinged menaces, have no filter and are stupid. I love them tho so it ok.

    Summary

    Summary

Earth-Born Wildlings are very rare to come by, many believe they never existed to begin with. But the old songs and tales claim it otherwise.
"Birth from earth and tree, born of root and rot.
Made from bones of yonder, carved from dirt and rock.
Moulded by water, wind and moon and all that is not.
These are the wildlings, and they see the stars for all that we cannot."
A lovely tune if you ask me.

    -

Otherwise known as: Bilbo is part Wildling and part Hobbit (with a dash of Fae blood for good measure), and he adopts a child before the unfortunate passing of his mother, after which the events of the story play out just....*slightly* different to how they originally went. There is magic all around us in the world, but not many can access it like Hobbits can. ;)

The Lonely Mountain once again belongs to the dwarves — but Smaug was not the only thing that lay slumbering in Erebor’s treasure hoard. Gold is not the greatest of a dragon’s treasures.

Bilbo Baggins discovers the one thing Smaug prized too highly to ever boast of; a secret even more dangerous than the theft of the arkenstone... in a box without hinges, key or lid.

Ori of the Brothers Ri is a freelance scribe in the poorest part of the City of Dale. He rushes to rescue his trouble-making elder brother Nori and finds a life, romance and food in the Mountain among royalty. Dori has secrets! And there’s nothing like a fairy-tale of scandal and lost nobility! The story is completely from Ori’s point of view. Expect appearances from Thror, Frerin (who is an utterly spoiled brat - apologies to Frerin worshipers), Lady Galadriel, Thranduil and practically everyone else. This is totally safe for Dain fans!
Smaug never hatched and Isildur listened to Elrond (somebody has to) and the one Ring no longer exists. Sauron is just a bad guy with orc armies.
There are some serious bits, but mostly it’s just a lively romp with food. Did we mention the food?
