Where he’d be safe and wouldn’t have to look behind his back constantly and watch every action he takes to make sure he’s not destroying the universe like he’s already done just one too many times. Because when he’s with Doc, he doesn’t have to worry. He knows he’s okay.

    But now that’s been stolen from him too. The feeling of safety and comfort and calm and love that he’d been missing so badly has been pushed just out of reach again and Marty’s so shaken up by the loss of something he had been pushing himself to get to for so long that he feels like he’s physically grieving.
