Slightly AU in the beginning (mainly Remus believing he can infect people through skin contact), but goes major AU after the events of Halloween 1981. -

The man in front of him grins again and there's an evil look in his eyes that makes Regulus know better than to trust him. "Well, we all deserve a second chance, pretty boy, don't we?"Regulus dies in that cave - of course he does. Perhaps this was the universe's way of telling him that it was too late to do the right thing. So what exactly is the universe trying to say when he's being given the oportunity to live again, in a whole different reality?

This of course leads to him setting his brand new, perfectly sensible goal in life, he’ll get a boyfriend.
This is a story about love, about finding someone who apparently makes traveling in time again and again worth it, and how his abilities may not be able to protect those he loves from the daily troubles of life, and maybe that will be worth it too.

Sirius finally looked at him. He appeared regal, out of place inside of the country pub. Rich, black hair curled around his ears and brushed his defined chin. He scanned his face for a moment—his eyes were grey and distant. Remus nodded at him, acutely aware that neither of them had said anything yet. A muscle in Sirius’ jaw twitched. He hummed noncommittally. “I’m gonna go pass out upstairs,” he said to James and James alone. “Tell the missus I’ll be over for dinner tonight.” With that, Sirius left through the backroom door.
Well, fuck you too, Remus thought.
Or, where Remus is suffocating and gets on the wrong train, and Sirius is on fire and doesn't trust strangers.
