As I feel Esme and her time living with the scythes was barely covered in the series, but I think it could have included some great insight to explain some of the darker sides of scythes, I decided to write her story from her point of view. This arc follows the general timeline laid out in Scythe, the first book in the series. Characters include both known and a few originals created to fill in some gaps.
I wanted to explore her struggles and experiences living with the scythes, including just how power can promote or erode morals, especially in a world that has conquered death, disease and pain. As the youngest character in the series, I think Esme’s point of view is unique.
This is all fiction, if you don’t want to think about these topics, don’t read this. This is a dark storyline with dark themes. This is a very different tone from the original series. Set your expectations accordingly.
I know it’s kind of smutty, but I think sex gets left out of too many stories. For this arc, it didn’t make sense to leave it out. Remember, it’s fiction.

I tried to edit The Ninth Commandment (my first and the most popular Arc Of A Scythe) fanfiction before to make it less cringy, but I failed, so I decided to give it a full-blown re-write! It's currently not completed, but I'm working on it.
Fifty years after Scythe Curie received her ring, her and her former mentor, the Honorable Scythe Faraday, turn their first corner. Then, after meeting again at conclave, Faraday starts to question whether he wants to be more than friends with her, and Scythe Curie's crush of fifty years is only solidified. Their beliefs and everything they've ever been taught comes into question.
