This is an imagination of how things might have gone between Maurice and Alec if everything went fine after the cricket match. In the book and the movie, Maurice thinks that he might get blackmailed by Alec and so out of fear he stays away from Alec, till Alec comes to the city to confront him. I wanted to write my take of their relationship without that fear.

After Clive, Maurice and Alec told their stories, it's Anne who now grabs a pen and some paper. Since she's an indispensable part of this series and since the original Anne is labeled 'shallow' or 'dull' by film critics, I think she deserves an experiment on her own turf.
We will learn how she grew up and how she met Clive. It's just another love story between members of two similar and yet utterly different families. We all know that getting what you want can be far from easy. In fact, it sometimes really sucks. But a lot of fun is had on the way, especially for the readers.Series

‘Only those who get upset over losing what they believe to be rightfully theirs are truly alive. I ought not to acknowledge that. Being respectable equals being dead and I see no trouble in continuing to be in that fashion.’
My new project is dedicated to the period of Clive's and Anne's engagement. These few months do not stand out much in the original novel and much less in fhe film. It left me to wonder how Clive truly felt about Maurice, the man he loved and who would be abandoned after the wedding. And of course, I was mighty worried about Maurice, who was about to lose everything he lived for.
This is a gift to two fellow fanfic writers, Julie_Anne and Annethepancake whose works I absolutely adore and whose inspiring comments on my other works gave me endless joy...Thank you, merci mille fois, dankjewel, obrigada eternamente!
Spoiler alert: Like my previous fic 'Under the Waves', this is not a fun ride with 21th-century characters living in a mess of cars and cats. However, I wanted it to be a light read with only a wee pinch of tragedy.
