I feel like Latrasil made her life harder than it had to be by stepping on Ranamun's ego so early in the narrative. Especially, because of the level of political power he wields among her supporters through his father. (Note: I'm NOT advocating that we ought to cater to men's egos)
So, I rewrote their first night together and had her be a bit more transparent about the political reasoning behind her actions b/c he is the son of her most ardent supporter in the court proper so she can afford not to be suspicious of his motivations. In this hypothetical, he doesn't take her rejection personally. Thus, preventing him from making problems for her down the line b/c he's butthurt that his masterful seduction methods didn't work on a workaholic that's still recovering from a bad break-up.
