“What’s the catch?” Kakeru says, suspicious.
“No catch,” says Haiji. He sounds honest, at least. Still, his eyes are a touch too innocent for Kakeru’s taste. “You deserve to be free. If you can’t choose your own path, then what’s the point of living?”
Kakeru has thought that before. In the end, it never mattered. He was stuck.

An open bento sits between them on the table, and as he talks, Yuki holds out some greens for Nico with his chopsticks, only to snatch them away with a laugh when Nico leans in. It’s playful in a way Yuki never is, a flush of joy coloring his cheeks as he looks at Nico. It’s flirty, Musa decides, downright romantic, and he can’t help but think that maybe Yuki is like this, only not when the rest of them can see.
Nico grins too. Then, the moment Yuki’s finished chewing, he’s leaning in and kissing Yuki on the lips.
Musa’s heart quietly bursts.
