Summary
Pansy Parkinson, like any pureblood witch, is guaranteed a comfortable life. As was the life of her mother, her grandmother and the generations of her family before them, since they only had to worry about keeping their magical lineage intact and investing their millions of galleons well. Everything was and would be perfect for her, her mother had made sure of that since her birth. Therefore, once she finished her studies at Hogwarts, the plan was that she would spend her youth traveling with her childhood friend, Daphne Greengrass, enriching themselves, until they both decided to settle down, fall in love with a boy, get married and get a decent job. But her mother did not foresee the one thing that would ruin their plans completely: a war.
During the Battle of Hogwarts, everything that could go wrong for Pansy has gone wrong, and she'll have to do the impossible to save herself...and all of humanity! Luckily, she won't have to do it alone—she has help. But unfortunately, the help is from Hermione Granger.
Now without her mother's plans, Pansy will have to improvise. Will she be able to get out of this nightmare? Will she be able to get her life back? Will her survival instinct be enough to save her? -

Surprise! Turns out saving the Wizarding World does not equate to an competent Ministry. Hermione wished she'd known sooner.
As the only member of the Golden Trio returning for an 8th year at Hogwarts, Hermione Granger is feeling a little despondent. Taking down Voldemort only to see no real change in Wizarding society tends to do that to a person. Luckily, Pansy Parkinson -and her suspicious behavior- is there to distract Hermione from her own problems. In fact, Hermione would go as far as to say that it is her civic duty to keep an eye on her. It has nothing to do with the fact that she occasionally gets the urge to do something stupid, like hold Parkinson's hand.
