Summary
For the Noldor, the personal is always political. There is humor, conflict, scandal, and a crazy mixture of discord and affection, which characterize the Finweans. It has plenty of self-indulgent evidence of my rather romanticized obsession with the glorious princes of the Noldor (male and female). This story is set in an amorphous, vague time frame shortly before the founding of Nevrast, before the Mereth Aderthad.
Burning_Nightingale requested Maedhros/Fingon among other characters. The story elements, which I am trying to provide are: "Angst or fluff (or both), either something plot-driven or character study. Optional ideas I would be interested to see include; something to do with horses, a piece of jewellery featured, something incorporating a major canon event, something about a journey in the wilderness, something about the beauty of nature, a battle or fight."

Summary
What if Boromir didn't receive the dream-summons and so stayed in Minas Tirith and Faramir went north instead? PG warning: this is a hard tale, but not a dark one. At crucial times, characters in LotR react instead of act. For example, when the Fellowship splits and the return of the king. Using the branch point of Boromir's dream I was able to examine both of these important choices.
This commentary AU is tersely written. It is primarily a bookverse story. Because I make large jumps when my timeline matches the original closely, this is intended for readers well familiar with the Ring War trilogy. Comments and typo catches are welcome. -

Summary
"But when dark things come from the houseless hills, or creep from sunless woods, they fly from us. What roads would any dare to tread, what safety would there be in quiet lands, or in the homes of simple men at night, if the Dúnedain were asleep, or were all gone to the grave?"
FOTR: The Council of Elrond
“Here are some of my own kin from the far land where I dwelt,” said Aragorn and yet we know so little of his kin or his life among them. The men of the Grey Company did not spring fully formed from the grass. They had mothers, fathers, and kin, surely. Who crafted their gear, sheltered them when young, fed them, and wove their clothing?
The Rangers of the North were few in number and the Wilds over which they ranged was vast. When Aragorn commanded they turn from their other duties to protect the Shire, who must they then leave undefended? What price then did the Dúnedain of the North pay?
As seen through the eyes of a woman of the Lord of the Dúnedain’s house, this is an attempt at a tale of the Northlands in the years of Aragorn’s efforts to preserve the Free Peoples of Middle Earth.

Summary
First half of SR 1390, as Bilbo and Frodo investigate strange happenings in the Shire, engage in politics with kin and others, and confront the damage done in Buckland. We get to visit the Free Fair, held over Lithe in Michel Delving, and see everything come to a head.
Lithe is an attempt to place the Shire more clearly within the context of Sauron's return and his growing influence on Middle-earth, as well as continue looking at the the socio-economic shifts affecting hobbit society as they cease being so isolated from the wider world.
A huge panoply of kin and characters tromp through the tale. Rated mature for subject matter and scenes. If you like light-hearted hobbit stories, this will not be your cup of tea.Series
