Waves crash against the shore as Hyeju stirs awake. Her eyes flutter open to reveal the stars glittering the sky; the moon is still in place. This would be such a beautiful sight, she tells herself before her eyes land on the centerpiece of the landscape in front of her: half of Lilith’s severed head looking right back at her, as if she was still present on this Earth.

Jimin hums.
She looks out of her window, watching the people that walk down the streets on a busy Sunday morning. The markets should be already open by then. Soon, they’ll be full of people and one day Jimin might meet one of them and she’ll fall in love and her heart will get broken shortly after.
It’s a cycle she might as well already get accustomed to. Love is something far from her reach, it’s something she’s beginning to establish.
