“All right. That's it class is over, go now shoo shoo "I hear Dad dismiss us away as he flicks his fingers, motioning us to leave him. I get up, leaving Snape's class and snatching my books. I sigh as I pinch the bridge of my nose “i'm so done with today”I walk over to my bed and get under the covers, not even kicking off my shoes, curling up.I wake up, it's dark out, only the moonlight partially seeping through my thin curtains. I sit at the edge of my bed, my hands gripping the edge of my sheets as I stare down at the floor. My shoes must've fallen off somewhere in the bed. I look over to my bedside table and see a plate full of food with a note from ron. ‘You missed supper, so i got you all of mine and your favorites just in case you were hungry’ with a little squiggly line to sign off ‘love, Ron’. I know he's my best mate, I know that it's wrong.

Before Felix could remove his headphones, he heard it. Heavy, borderline panicked breaths. Felix realized that it must be Hollander. His mic was not turned off when he left the interview. Footsteps. And then a door opening and closing. They had filmed the interview that morning at the offices of the Irina Foundation. It sounded like maybe he had gone into his office.
“Hey, what is it? What is wrong?” Another voice. Unmistakable anywhere. Even if Felix hadn’t spent weeks now listening to it, he would still have recognized Ilya Rozanov’s voice.

What if the filmmaker making the documentary about Hollander and Rozanov discovered the truth about their relationship. Ilya Rozanov has been drafted by Boston, the number one pick overall, but his father doesn't want him moving to America and so takes steps to block his visa. He's going to have to go back to Russia and stay there forever and that, thinks Shane Hollander, is wrong.
It's so wrong that Shane can't stop himself from doing something about it. Even though that something is the most reckless, the only reckless thing he's ever done in his life. He marries Rozanov in secret, to keep him out of Russia and put him on a path to Canadian citizenship.
Shane's got a five-year plan to get him there and when you have a plan nothing can go wrong. Right? Right. When you have a solid plan and a marriage that's on paper only there's no risk of feelings getting involved. Not on Rozanov's part and certainly not on Shane's.
