“This house has existed for centuries. Your ancestors slowly built it up with the help of… folk in this forest. I am merely one of its inhabitants.”

Summary
They’ve got dark black hair and large fin-like protrusions covering their ears. The fins and the webbing between their fingers are an inky indigo color that fades to a brilliant purple. Their jet dark eyes are trained on Yunho where he stands in the clearing. Yunho’s sure that this is a merperson. Which shouldn’t be possible, merfolk are a myth, a legend, and yet Yunho can clearly see the end fins of this creature’s long tail curving up and out of the pool.
Yunho can also see how heavily the mer is breathing. Their chest shuddering with every inhale and exhale. They’re in obvious pain and Yunho can see the diluted blood in the water around them. He turns to fully face them and sits in the grass. The mer startles and immediately winces at how the movement rattles them. He can see they’re trying to pretend like they aren’t in immense pain.
