Chapter Text
It had been four months since Harry helped Louis with his heat and the two shared some conversations that changed things between them. After those days spent together, Harry had begun the old and now rarely used tradition of courting Louis. It started with letters being delivered to Louis’ apartment. Letters that made Louis’ heart race and made him feel like a giddy teenager again.
Then it upgraded into dates and more talking, flowers and other presents. And the best part of Harry’s gift giving is he always got Wren something too. Of course the toddler didn’t know the full story, but Harry wanted Wren to feel included because as he said before, Wren was part of Louis. And if things worked out with Louis, Harry wouldn’t just be a mated alpha. He’d be a father too.
The process of courting took years back in the day, but of course with the times as they are it took roughly four months. The last two weeks of courting included Harry taking Louis and Wren on family dates and family outings to see how compatible they worked as a group. It wouldn’t be worth trying if Wren didn’t like Harry or didn’t want him around.
But she did. She absolutely adored the alpha. If anything Louis felt she loved Harry more than her mommy. It was sweet though.
The three were currently at the zoo, Wren walking in between them holding one of each of their hands. The toddler was so excited to see all her favorite animals and gasped when she saw the tigers. “Oh my gosh!” She squealed and tugged her mom and Harry over to the tiger exhibit. “Theo! Look mommy it’s Theo! Daddy it’s Theo!” She jumped up and down and waved at the tiger that was currently laying on one of the rocks in the exhibit.
Louis couldn’t help the smile that came to his face when he realized Wren had called Harry dad. It made his heart flutter happily. He turned and looked at Harry and saw the alpha with a surprised smile on his face as well.
They made eye contact and Louis just smiled, moving closer to the alpha and tucking himself into Harry’s side. “I told you it wouldn’t be long till she started calling you dad.” He grinned.
“Is it weird I feel like crying right now. I’m just really happy.” Harry chuckled and pressed a kiss to Louis’ forehead. “I love you.”
“I love you too.”
Wren turned to look at them after rambling to the tiger about how she has a tiger at home named Theo. She giggled. “Can we go eats? Tummy going grrr.” She said.
Louis nodded. “Of course we can.” He smiled.
Wren went closer to Harry and lifted her arms up. “Daddy carry me?” She asked with a pout. Her little legs and feet were probably tired so it didn’t surprise Louis that she’d ask to be carried.
Harry grinned and picked her up. Wren sighed contently, and laid her head on his shoulder. Harry reached over with his other arm and pulled Louis into his side again. “Let’s go eat.” He said softly.
